RideMakerz

We celebrated Father's day a little early and went to Downtown Disney for lunch and then the boys got their surprise present a gift card to RideMakerz.
Here's the gang at Torilla Jo's:
Here is Mike with his car choice.  I'm not quite sure what it is.  I called it the "Bat Mobile."
 Dad and his Corvette.
Jon and his Charger.  He was the most excited for sure.  I had a hard time getting him to stand still to get a picture.
The boys in the pit ready to build their cars.
This picture cracks me up because Dad and Jon are paying attention and Mike is just staring and blowing a bubble.  That's my boy!!
They were more excited to get them home and race them.
We drew a track and had them race.  The order is Jon (I believe he named his car "That's what she said"), Mike (his was named "Sputter" because the controller kept dying) and Dad whose car was nameless.
These three are hilarious together and sure have a good time.  It was pretty funny watching three grown men walk around Downtown Disney with their car boxes.

Memorial Day

My Dad has been wanting to go to the March Air Museum for the longest time so on Memorial Day we figured that we'd all get together and go with him.  Sunday I got a text from my mom that we were going to cancel Monday because my dad wasn't feeling good.  We all figured that he just had that flu bug going around so we weren't too worried.  Well later that night I got a text that my dad was in the hospital.  I was shocked!  He didn't have to flu at all.  It was actually his appendix and they were worried it would burst.  Around midnight my dad went in for an emergency surgery.  It was an outpatient surgery so we knew he'd come home on Memorial day.  We decided that we'd still go down to my parents and BBQ for them since they'd had a pretty exciting night.  So here are all the pictures of us waiting around for our parents.

My dad is a funny man.  The surgeon said he was the happiest patient ever.  I guess he smiled the whole time he was in surgery.  Also, he was in the hospital most of Monday but he still went into work Tuesday morning.  His interpretation of taking it easy was taking the elevator instead of the stairs.

Con'GRAD'ulations Steph!!

On May 26th, Steph graduation from Cal State Long Beach with her Masters in Religious Studies. We are super proud of her accomplishments.
 Here's our graduate:

Little Mermaid Attraction Sneak Preview

One of the perks of Steph working at Disneyland is that when there is a new attraction the cast members and their family get to preview it first before the public. Yesterday Steph took my Mom, Kim, Kenley and I to the sneak preview for the Little Mermaid attraction. We all absolutely loved it!! It is so colorful and the improvement in the characters makes all the Fantasyland attractions look super cheesy. I cannot wait to ride it many more times in the future. It's that good!! Kenley is pretty special because it was her first Disneyland ride ever and it's not even open to the public :) She was all smiles all day long. I wish cameras were allowed on the ride because Kenley held the bar the whole ride. It was too cute.

Here's the whole gang enjoying our Girls' Day at Disneyland.

 Proud Grandma and Kenley.
She loved her new hat from the Mad Hatter.
So all the girls in my family have what we call our "buddy bands" and it was about time that Kim and Kenley got their own.  Kenley will have some growing to do before hers fits perfectly.
Her outfit says it all :)
Thanks Steph (aka Uncle Skeeter) for such a fun day!

Bromance

Jon, Mike and my Dad have become buddies. The three of them together are a crack up. They go bowling, eat burgers, fly remote control airplanes and build bottle rockets. I wish I had pictures of all the fun stuff they do together. It's nice to see them getting along so well.  Here they are on my Dad's birthday taking his airplane for a test run.

Kenley's Blessing

Yesterday my niece, Kenley, was blessed.  It was such a special day for our family and Kenley sure enjoyed being the center of attention.  She continues to bless our family with an increase of love.  She defiantly has us all wrapped around her fingers.
Here she is all dressed up and ready to go.
 Me and my little princess.
Uncle Mike and his little buddy.
She was all smiles for her post blessing photoshoots.

MS Walk 2011

This was our second year doing the MS Walk for Jocilyn Taylor (aka JoFo) and it is such an amazing experience.  Our team is small in numbers but we still have a ball.  This year our team grew by another 4 legged team member.  Half way through the walk both Brawny and Duchess decided they needed a beach break.  Here is Mike trying to get Brawny out of the water.
This is Brawny, Mike, Duchess and Jocilyn.
Brawny and Mike taking a break.  It was funny finishing the walk with two soaking wet dogs.
 Here's our awesome team.
We look forward to many more MS Walks to help find a cure for our family friend!
