Lake Davey

A couple weeks ago we had some steady rain storms (for CA) and our poor backyard couldn't handle it.  Our backyard floods if we leave the sprinklers on too long so rain off and on for weeks was a nightmare!

Poor Brawny didn't even like all the water.  He had a trail he took to go to the bathroom to avoid the deep waters.  Unfortunately as the water dried up Brawny became more comfortable running through and playing in the flooded yard.  Good thing our floors are tile because we had a muddy mess for weeks.

The backyard is now just hard mud with tons of paw prints in it.  Hopefully we can get it fixed before the next CA storm hits.

California State Citrus Park

Last Saturday my family and I decided to take our dogs to the California State Citrus Park to go on a nice walk.  It was a beautiful day with beautiful scenery. 

The park had different walking trails you could take through all the different citrus groves.

Brawny really enjoyed being outside but as the day went on he liked the shade of the orange trees more.

Brawny loves to run but Mike and I don't so he enjoyed getting to go fast with "Uncle Skeeter"

Brawny and Doogie got to ride in the back of my Mom's Vue.  Brawny loved it but Doogie wanted to ride up with us.

Disneyland

Last Friday Mike decided to take a much needed vacation day so that we could get one last use out of our annual passports.  We got to California Adventure right when it opened and headed straight to our favorite ride, Toy Story.  We had a five minute wait and decided that once wasn't enough.  As soon as we finished our 1st trip we made a stop at the churro cart (for Mike) and got back in line for a rematch.  Unfortunately I lost both times. :(

We then went over to Disneyland to do some more rides.  We were on our way to the Haunted Mansion when we passed the Dole stand outside the Tiki Room.  I've been wanting to try the Pineapple Whip for a long time but the line is usually too long to wait.  Well not that day!  There was no one in line so we had to try it.

Any trip to Disneyland is not complete without AT LEAST one trip to the Churro cart for Mike. Here is photo documentation of trip #2.

We couldn't believe how nice it was at Disneyland considering it was a Friday.  We rode back to the parking lot on a bus all by ourselves.

It was a great day spent with my favorite person.



Bench Project

Mike and I have been wanting something to spruce up our front porch.  My Mom had a bench that needed some TLC and said we could have it. 

 Here's a before picture:

After a good scrub down, few coats of stain and a couple screws we have a nice bench to enjoy for years to come.
