An Offer Too Good To Refuse

Every year when Christmas rolls around I always think to myself that Mike and I should send cards out to our families and friends.  This thought usually gets overlooked by what it would cost to do so or by our hectic schedules.  Lately I've seen a lot of my fellow bloggers post about Shutterfly's 50 FREE PHOTO CARD PROMOTION.  I looked into myself and honestly couldn't pass up the offer and knew that Mike (being frugal to put it nicely...ha ha!) wouldn't mind either. The best part of the offer is that the cards are adorable. I thought because you’d get them for free that they would limit you to the simplest of designs but that’s not the case at all.  I honestly don't know which one I'm going to choose.   Here is just one of many designs that has caught my eye:
Take a look at all the photo cards they offer:

The other thing I thought was cool is that you can get personalized Christmas cards. Maybe I'm behind the times (quite possible...) but here are options for actual cards not just the photo postcard style:

While I was on their website I also saw these calendars and thought about what great presents they would make for either parents or grandparents. I was going to do one this years but craft it with paper and the cost would have been outrageous! The clear solution to my problem is a Shutterfly calendar because they are so reasonable and appealing:

Now that Shutterfly has sold me on their Christmas cards all I have to do is gather up Mike and Brawny to get a new family picture.  So 4 years later you all can expect a Christmas card from the Davey family :)

Finally...

I finally got around to blogging about our cruise that we took 2 MONTHS AGO! Better late than never.

Belmont Shore Rugby Club Charity Golf Tournament

This past Saturday Mike, Jon, Uncle Danny and my Dad played in a charity golf tournament for Steph's Rugby team. They were all real excited for a day of guy bonding time. Despite having a fun time they were awarded a prize for being the worst team. They had to elect someone as the "Worst Player" and that someone was Mike.
The best part of the day is that Mike sunk a 50ft putt that won him $2500! He was the first person in the history of the event to ever do so.

I'm so proud of my husband!!

(Although I'm sure he'll use this as an excuse to golf more frequently)

Mike and Jon

The first day of vacation the boys had a lot of fun!
It started off with them playing some basketball.
Then they played some ping pong.
They posed for silly pictures.
Oh yeah...they won $500 playing Bingo.
Then they did some dancing. (Believe him now Davey Family?!)
Those two sure enjoyed each other's company!

May 24th - Welcome Aboard!

Here we are waiting for the shuttle to take us to the Port of Miami. We were all ready to get on the ship to start our vacation.
Jon and Mike enjoying the view of the pool.
Us girls excited to be on vacation.

May 25th - Key West, Florida

Our first stop on the cruise was Key West. It is such a nice little town. It reminds me a lot of Catalina. Jon, Kim, Mike and I decided to just walk around and do a little shopping. Here's a picture of Mike and I and the ship.

Of course we had to take all sorts of tourist shots.

This picture was Mike's creation and still cracks me up!!

May 26th - Nassau, Bahamas

In Nassau we signed up to go snorkeling with the stingrays. The excursion was pretty cool because it took you off to an island named Blackbeard's Cay. This was the one thing Mike wanted to do on the cruise so that's what we did. I was not a fan. The stingrays freaked me out and I couldn't get the hang of the snorkel but Mike loved it!! Here we are waiting to leave on our excursion.

Jon and Mike on our way to Blackbeard's Cay.

Blackbeard's Cay.Here's the whole group waiting to get in the stingray area. The life vest had the most annoying butt strap that would dangle and hit your leg. FREAKED ME OUT!! (I know I'm a baby!)

The handlers actually let you feed the stingrays. See how everyone is in the water and I'm standing ready to run :)

I learned that stingrays love Mike because at any given time there were 2-3 of them swimming around him. Here's Mike holding one of the pregnant stingrays.

This was my favorite part of the shore excursion! The part of the beach without the stingrays :) We had fun searching for sand dollars. (That's why I'm looking down)

May 27th - Coco Cay, Bahamas

Coco Cay is Royal Caribbeans private island. They had mats you could rent for the day so Mike and I just floated around in the crystal blue waters. It was such a relaxing day! Unfortunately no pictures of paradise were taken. Sorry!

That night we went to karaoke where Kim and I actually got up and did a NSYNC song! No pictures of that just a video and I'll spare myself the embarrassment of posting that.

May 28th - Miami, Florida

After docking in Miami we decided to take a shore excursion to Gator Park. Mike was really excited because on his mission they were not allowed on the airboats. Our tour started on a tour through the Everglades. We had the craziest airboat guide who was seriously like Ace Ventura. He would call the alligators by name and would have all sorts of stories about the other animals. He also stop the boat out in the middle of the nowhere and let you get out. So we can say that we've stood in the Everglades. The boat tour was awesome!
Our guide with one of his many friends.

After the ride in the airboat we got to see an animal show were the handler did a bunch of tricks with the alligator.
After everything you had the option to take a picture with an alligator and Mike wasn't going to pass it up. So here's our family with Mike's perfect pet :)

Our Newest Hobby...

When we redid our backyard last summer we built an area that would someday house a garden. Well we got lazy and never did anything with it until a couple months ago because my Mom finally helped us get it started.

So now we totally love gardening and keep adding plants to it. We now have every color pepper, watermelon, 2 strawberry plants, 2 tomatos, and a ton of squash. We added a gate to keep Brawny out so he doesn't eat all our vegetables.

Since we are on a planting spree we decided that the plants in our front yard had to go. They keep growing and getting more in the way plus the ants love them, We were happy to see them go! (oh and I have no clue what I'm doing in this picture...So just ignore me)
Now we have colorful and ant free flowers that we just love! I had to get my two favorite guys in the picture :)
A close up. So much nicer!

Brawny loves Wii!!

We discovered one night while playing a round of Wii bowling that Brawny really likes to watch. He watched us play the entire time. He's a funny dog!

MS Walk

Today we had the chance to participate in the MS walk that took place in San Diego. It was the perfect day and the walk path was beautiful. It took you around NTC park and then along the harbor. We were walking for one of the young women from our ward who was recently diagnosed with MS at the age of 16. She is an amazing young woman and was so fun to be around. It was so fun for all of us especially Brawny :)

Brawny loved being a part of the walk and getting to meet so many new people.

I had to try to get photo evidence that I was actually there :)

Can you believe...

this is the same dog??

Adventures in Babysitting

Last night we babysat Jill's kids, Kaelyn and Austin. We are starting to believe that the nieces and nephews aren't coming over for Mike and I anymore but more for Brawny.

Mike and Austin became buddies very quickly. Kids love Mike!

More Park Pictures

Just a random shot of Mike and I.
Scarlett liked racing Brawny.
