Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2

I have never been interested in reading or watching any of the Harry Potter series.  I remember being newly married and Mike being consumed by the last Harry Potter book.  I never understood why adults were so into this series until July 15th.  On the drive to and from Mesquite Stacey's kids had the movies playing.  On the drive home I sat in the back and got drawn into the first Harry Potter movie.  I only caught about every other 10 minutes because it would make me car sick but it was enough to get me hooked.  We went that Saturday and bought the box set.  We got home around 2pm and watched 1-3.  We went to bed so late but I was addicted.  The whole next day at church all I could think about was Harry Potter.  Once we got home we watched 4 and 5.  I wanted to wait to watch number 6 until I knew we were going to see the second part.  Well it took over a month but we finally did it!  Sunday we watched number 6 and Labor Day we went on a date to see the finale.
IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT!!
We were well equipped with snacks even though it was only 9:30am.
 My handsome date and I.
When we showed up to the theater there wasn't anyone there to take your ticket.  We thought that was hilarious.  There ended up being about a dozen of us at that showing.
 My self portrait lol!
I can't wait for the dvd to come out so we can watch it again.  Now I am excited to read the books.

Ms. Davies Classroom

Carden Conservatory has a new fourth grade teacher this year, Ms. Davies!!  When Steph got the job I was given the responsibility of decorating her classroom.  The school has some crazy rules about classroom decorations.  The room had to have a theme and color scheme and it couldn't look like "a rainbow explosion."  We decided since the school is in Huntington the room needed to be a beach theme.
Here's the chalkboard/front of the classroom:
The after isn't quite down there will be pictures of the students by their "star work."  Yes, she only has 4 STUDENTS!
All her different cork boards around the room for the different subjects.
The different stations in the room.  My favorite is the sink where you "wipe out germs." LOL!
Steph's desk needed some added flair too!
 The classroom door.
The decorating crew hard at work.
Here's to a good school year Ms. Davies!!

Garage Transformation

I openly admit to being a garage snob.  I knew when I finally got a house that I'd want my garage to be clean and organized all the time.  I do my best to keep the garage up to MY standards but I would still get embarrassed every time it was open.  The problem wasn't our cleanliness but instead it was the walls that were covered in graffiti from the previous owners.  The last thing anyone wants to do after painting the entire inside of their house is paint their garage.  So almost 3 years since we moved in we are FINALLY finishing the garage.  (Thanks Mike!!)
I am so lucky to have a husband that kicks butt at painting.  He is a perfectionist when it comes to painting the house.  I LOVE IT!!
I am also lucky to have the most chill dog who just hung out in his pool while we worked.

I can now leave the garage door open and not feel white trash.  It's the greatest feeling ever.

Terrible Two's

My "Four-Legged Child" turned 2 on August 28th and we celebrated it with my family.  Brawny was spoiled by my family.  Steph got him this huge bone and he loves it!!
It was hilarious watching him run around with it.  I got hit in the leg and it hurt so bad.
Of course there was water involved in his 2nd birthday.
Mike and my Mom don't look too happy sitting in the heat but we enjoyed the time we spent together.
Brawny was nice and even shared his pool with Steph.
 Steph and Doogie.
 Brawny and his bone.
My Mom got the dogs some Frosty Paws which is dog ice cream.  Brawny loved it!!
My Dad playing with his Ipad.
Brawny's proud owner :)
This picture is for Mike.  He complains there are never any pictures of me so he's started taking them of me.
Brawny may have shared his pool with Steph but the bone was off limits.
It has been a fun 2 years with Brawny.  He is so well behaved (when he wants to be) and keeps us laughing.  He has been great with Kenley and we just know he'll be amazing when we are blessed with kids of our own.

Disneyland Hotel Pool

We had the opportunity to crash the Paxman Family vacation and spend the day poolside with them at the Disneyland Hotel.  Mike and I were super excited to play in the pool and try out their new waterslides with our buddies Isaac, Scarlett and Bonski.
Here's Scarlett enjoying her jumbo apple which she can do with ease now that she is braces free!
Isaac and Bonski being silly doing who knows what.  LOL!
Isaac has a special way of eating his apple.
 Bonski showing off his grapes.
Mike and Scarlett on their way up to the BIG slide.
The Boys all enjoyed the slide.
We were patiently waiting for the slide to open and as soon as it did we went on it.  One thing I am not is graceful.  My first time down the slide I slipped getting on and my feet ended up over my head and I landed hard on my tailbone.  Since I fall often I just laughed but the fall made me go really fast so I ended my first trip on the slide with whiplash and motion sickness. LOL!!  I'm such a clutz!
It's a pretty awesome slide though:
 Scarlett playing in the waterfall.
 Scarlett "resting" in the cabana.
The Boys taking a break from the heat.

Mike and Scarlett resting as well.
 Evidence that I was there!
