I knew exactly how I wanted my curtains to look but couldn't find them in a store so while the boys built my mom taught me how to sew.  I love how they ended up.  Perfect touch to my country kitchen.

Kitchen Nook

The main problem I've always had with my house is our eat-in kitchen.  I would always complain that it was too small and we'd never be able to seat more than four people at a time.  One solution we found was a kitchen nook.  We looked online but the ones you buy aren't that big so I'd have the same seating problem.  I convinced Mike that he could build me a nook.  With the help of my dad and Jon he conquered his fear of power tools and built an amazing nook!

Here is the start of everything:

 This was the end of day one.  It's half our nook.

 Here is the finished project.  By day two Mike was an old pro.  He even helped me with the cushion.

 We decided that with a new bench we would need a bigger table.  Here's our brand new table!!

Mike shouldn't have done such a good job because he now has a list of 5 things I want built.

Kitchen Cabinets

Mike took a week off of work so that we could do some home repairs.  We have been watching WAY TOO MUCH DIY Network and decided that we should repaint our kitchen cabinet.  When we first moved in we wanted to stain our cabinets but decided it was a little over our heads.  So three years later we got to work.  The funny thing about the whole process is that five minutes in I just sat down.  Mike walked in and asked me what was wrong and I told him I wasn't having fun.  After a reality check that it was going to be hard work I started getting things done.

 Once I got all the doors off I decided it was time to empty the cabinets.  This is half of our cabinet contents.

 This is a shot of the madness.  The clutter drove me insane so once everything was dry I got to organizing.  Then I could breathe again :)

 I had to get a random shot of Brawny.  He loved that Mike was home from work.

Guest Bath Remodel

I learned the hard way that you shouldn't pick a whole house worth of colors at once because you'll end up hating one.  That is what happened with our guest bathroom.  I loved the blue, as a sample, but it was too much in our small bathroom.  Mike told me after painting the whole house that he wasn't changing any of the colors but I won the battle.

We loved our monkey theme so we had to keep it going.

 Mike also redid our cabinet because it was MESSED UP!  He repainted it, changed the hinges and added knobs.

She is just an adorable little angel who makes the sweetest little noises.  I just couldn't get enough snuggle time with her!

This one is for Mike's sisters :)

Last Christmas Mike's Mom gave him a box of Target fruit snacks (which are his favorites) and his sisters gave him a hard time.  We then got talking about all of the other snacks Mike takes in his lunches.  We all agree that shopping for Mike is like shopping for a kid.  I'm just sad that I didn't have any dino bites to include in the picture because my grown-up kid believes that dino bites taste better than normal chicken nuggets.  I have to say that Mike sure makes me laugh. 

Cirque du Bebe Kenley

When my mom, Steph and I decided to throw Kim a baby shower I knew what theme to use long before any other details came together. Kim is a lover of all things French so when I saw the "Cirque du Bebe" shower on Hostess with Mostess I had to execute it for Kim. It was hard to find anything in the craft stores that went with our theme so I decided to be brave and craft most of our decorations.

Here is a pennant banner with the baby's name, Kenley, and a diaper cake made by Steph and I.  This was where we collected the diapers brought to be included in a raffle.

We figured you couldn't do a circus theme without some popcorn in handmade cones.

I made a couple different pennant banners to hang throughout.  Here is the larger one.

The cupcake toppers had animal stamps layered on animal print paper.

This is how the party planners unwind.  As you can see we got a little crazy with all the Diet Coke :)

All the time and energy put into the decorations were worth it.  Now we have to wait to meet our newest niece which may be the hardest part!
